Stuck. Need help
I have a 03 bmw x5 4.4i. It drove for the most part. I finally rebuilt my engine now I get a no crank no start. I scan it, ews temping protection and is partially communicating. I have the wiring diagrams for the immobilizer, body control module power distribution circuit, instrument cluster. I finally got it to crank. Any ideas on how to bypass the ews.

So you still have the original DME installed? If EWS is now allowing starter activation most likely just lost sync between EWS and DME. This can be corrected with proper diagnostics. There's no easy way to bypass EWS 3.3 with rolling code.

You can by pass the EWS. I did it on mine when it had a F11 amp draw. It took a reprogrammed DME and EWS module removal. Worked fine. After fixing the GMIII module and another amp draw, I reversed it by installing the original DME and EWS module. The two big wires at the EWS module are connected together with a fuse. DME removal and installation is easy.
