newbie with a few questions.
![]() ive just boughts a 2006 e53 3.0d x5 and i have got a few problems i need help with. firstly and most important is i have no heater blower at all. i have checked all fuses and replaced the final stage resistor but still no sign of the blower firing up at all. also the resistor gets stupidly hot as in could probably burn skin hot which i am sure is not normal. both resistors do this. fuses have all been checked and are fine battery voltage is available at the yellow wire going to resistor plug, i have upto 8v coming in on the control wire from hvac unit. mainly just wondering if anyone has any other ideas of what may be wrong before i shell out for a new blower unit. and secondly. the car has been converted by previous owner to normal coil springs on the rear instead of the air shocks. but they appear to of left all the electrics intact including ehc module and compressor etc. what is the best way to disable all this to get rid of the suspension inact message on dash. - i have a dcan cable aswell as inpa/ista and ncs expert, winkfp etc and i am not completely new to using them as have had an e46 in the past. thanks and sorry for the long post |

I wrote a DIY for troubleshooting the FSR in bimmerfest E39 (5-series) forum.
If you search, you will find it... It shows the way to bypass the FSR to test the blower motor itself.

I thought you stated "i have a dcan cable aswell as inpa/ista and ncs expert, winkfp etc and i am not completely new to using them as have had an e46 in the past."
I use BMW Scanner 1.4 to do my coding, which one of the software you listed are you using?

You can code the LKM to remove the inactive suspension error code with BMW Scanner 1.4. Not sure how you will do it with NCS expert.

It's my understanding the best way to do this is recode the VO and modules to delete the ehc all together? Or is this just the case with ehc2?

OP just want to turn off the error message. Since he doesn’t have air bags any longer the error message doesn’t apply to his suspension system so turning it off at the LKM is the quickest and easiest method. Since he doesn’t have airbag perhaps a EHC module delete can work and not just recoding the module.
