Dead battery or ??????

MY 2001 4.4 X5 was in the garage for 4 days, I came back to town last night, the bluetooth kit was there too, so I tried to see if it gonna work or not after I did all the connections and turned the key on the system was working good, I was so exhausted from being out of town so I decided to discconect everything and go to be.

I did disconnect the ULF while the ignition was on.

Today, I tried to statrt the car, it will not start, the interior light are on but it will not start, plus evertime I tried to start the head light will come on even the switch is off, I do not know if it is a battery issue or I missed something when disconnecting the ULF module last night.

any help

Kind of sounds like a computer thing maybe. When I was having problems with my icelink this kind of stuff was happening. Lights would come on and stay on even though they were switched off, display and instrument panel goes dead, etc. The starting thing makes it sound more sevre though. Was the bluetooth kit hooked in all that time? I see you live in Michigan, and it's been rediculously cold recently, cold doesn't seem to do any favors for electronics in these cars. Every time I left my iPod plugged into my car over night when it was cold out, this kind of stuff happened the next day. Hope you figure it out, having an awesome car sitting in your garage isn't fun!

I'm in the downriver area of Detroit. If you need help, let me know.

Do you still have your original battery? If so, I'd bet it's time for a replacement.

Replaced mine because it was 5 yrs old (12/00) and winter loves to kill old batteries

Used to be a Diehard fan, but now they only offer 3yr warrantee, used to be 5yr

did the car "click" when you tried to start it? sounds like the battery is drained if the headlights are dimming...

Get a battery and see if that solves the problem before you attempt to trouble shoot electronics.

well, I got a dura last battery from Autozone(since it was saturday and the dealer is not open), when trying to reomve the old bateery I found that there is a small hose coming out the left side, I was not sure what it is, so I decided to recharge it and see what happen, actually after recharging the old battery the problem was resolved and my X5 is back on the road.
