Parasitic Drain Pass. Compartment/Trunk Lighting

2002 E53, 4.6is

After a couple of battery drains...I did the parasitic drain test on battery and 4.65 amps dropped to 0.14 amps when I pulled out the 20 amp fuse #27-- "Passenger Compartment/Trunk Lighting".
Trunk light is dead even with fuse #27 plugged in.
Upper trunk lid lock only opens manually. (replaced spring in the lock)
Lid grip outside above Licence does not work but lights on.
(I guess I will have to cough up for the lock and the lid grip - probably over $300)

Question) So is there a short on the trunk lights and how to check it or am I missing something ?
Thank you
