Parasitic Drain Pass. Compartment/Trunk Lighting
After a couple of battery drains...I did the parasitic drain test on battery and 4.65 amps dropped to 0.14 amps when I pulled out the 20 amp fuse #27-- "Passenger Compartment/Trunk Lighting". Trunk light is dead even with fuse #27 plugged in. Upper trunk lid lock only opens manually. (replaced spring in the lock) Lid grip outside above Licence does not work but lights on. (I guess I will have to cough up for the lock and the lid grip - probably over $300) Question) So is there a short on the trunk lights and how to check it or am I missing something ? Thank you |

You can look at the schematic, here: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...uses/f27-fuse/

Trunk lights get continuous voltage and ground is switched by trunk lid lock. So when the lock opens it switches the ground to those lights. (And bongs the trunk lid open on cluster.)

Just follow the wiring with a multimeter to rule out where the problem is.
