Xenon Problem - works but not really

Hi guys

I got a new issue today with my xenon bulbs. Follow me home function (engine off, pull on the stalk) causes both xenons to function correctly. However in auto position with engine on, the driver side xenon does not turn on, and the fogs come on. The driver side xenon will not turn on in any mode with the engine on...

I had the headlights out recently, but I’m not sure how I could have connected or disconnected something improperly if follow me home is working...

Would be glad to hear from anyone with a similar issue...Thanks.

Well at least the gift news is the ballast and bulb function.

You need to dig into the wiring diagrams and figure out the path from the switch to the control module etc there must be alternate control paths for your symptoms to happen

Andrew thanks for the encouragement, glad the ballast is ok. Can you explain in more detail what my next approach should be?

I have unplugged and replugged the headlight, nothing. Interestingly the mirror dip in reverse function has completely stopped working as well. Leads me to think it is a fuse or perhaps a module. Adaptive lighting also does not work but I’m not sure if that’s because one of the headlights isn’t functioning. No warnings on the cluster or anything. I will try to scan the LCM tommorow. Very upset to say the least...

They're is a complete library online of the circuit wiring digrams. TIS but it's too late for me to go find them. Somebody will likely follows up for me.

I am happy to say i think i solved the problem. I disconnected the battery & held the positive & negative terminals together for 20-30 minutes. The mirror dip issue was unrelated; it started working again. I scanned the car & code is ALC control unit error. No codes detected in ALC computer. The code was in the LCM. Couldn't do much more diagnositics with INPA.

I now have headlight phobia & do not even want to touch or look at them. Thanks.
