7 series

I am looking at a 745Li 2005, which has a few similarities to the 2005 X5 4.8is - but I haven’t been able to find a good forum to get advice and info like this one provides for the X. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

There are multiple BMW sites that have 7 series forums. Some are more active than others. You can peruse the 3 forums below…or google for a “BMW E65 7 Series Forum” in case there are more active ones out there:

Thanks - I had done some searching and checking on my usual forums (at least one is listed above), but none compare to this forum. Really, of all the car forums for BMW and other makes that I’ve ever used, this E53 group is by far the best. Thus, hoping someone here with a 7 (E65/66) would steer me straight.

If you can’t find a very active e65/e66 forum…you can usually gain a lot from generational models that have the same engines and utilize the same communication bus and options. The “E-chassis 5/6/X5 forums that are equivalent to the e65/e66 7 series (e60/e64/e70) can provide a lot of insights in regards to maintenance and issues…again because they share many of the same parts, engines, transmission, communication bus, electronic modules, etc.

Good luck.

Yep, E65 side of forums are pretty dead. Not too familiar with 45i, but I have owned my E65 almost 4years now. Ah, almost forgot I have to order front wheel bearing for it.
