X5 Sleeper

One of the features I love about my X5 is the ability to be able to lay out flat in the back and take a nap. If you've ever flown a red eye and found a row of unused seats in the back of the plane you know the sheer joy I'm talking about.

I often take the X5 on long motor trips and always throw a comforter and pillow in the back. I don't travel with the package shade, so if I need a rest, I just pull over, drop the rear seats and lay down in the back while she drives. I'm 5'11", and I easily fit diagonally. If I'm tired, there's nothing better than waking up rested and a 100 miles further down the road.

Are you belted in during the ride? If not, I would hate to be in an accident without one.

taking a nap is MUCH smarter then trying to drive home when you are exhausted...

Lol, I'm sure how comfortable this is since the rear seats don't fold down completely flat. I would just recline the front seat and then I'll be out like a bulb.

I wish there was a way to turn off the car after a period of time.
The slight rumble of any car can put me to sleep instantly if I'm laying down.

No, I'm not belted in when I'm snoozing, but every now and then you have got to throw caution to the wind. The X5 seats do not lay completely flat, but it's way better than some SUV's which are really a design flaw in how poorly they fold. Camping out in the X5 is a complete different thread.
