Style 132 OEM 19"s -- staggered?

I've found a local set of 19" style 132 wheels off a 2004 E53. I'm curious, the buyer says they're staggered but I can't see the tire sizes in the pictures. I can read one tire to be a 255/50/19, but the others I can't see -- it might be a 285/45/19? The diameter would match, but I can't say for sure.

The price is right, so I wonder if anyone can tell me the wheel/tire size for stock, and perhaps if they are a good upgrade from my stock 17"s. I would ideally like to put some cheap winter tires on my 17"s and then use these 19"s in the summer. It snows a lot here in the winter and we already have that setup on our primary car.

All opinions are welcome. Thank you!

If that set is indeed orig equip BMW style 132s they are staggered.

I have seen some non stock/replica "132" style wheels floating around the web that were 'square'/non-staggered, but that square sizing is not common...

I have had the OE 132 staggered style on my '01 3.0 E53 5 Speed for the past 14 years; they look good, run well, and I like their look.

Correct on sizing if they are staggered: 255/50 R19 front and 285/45 R19 rear, tires sizing.
They are a few brands and species available in that size, though the selection and often the availability for a full staggered set is decreasing over the years.

I just 're-tired' my E53 with a set of Bridgestone Dueler Sport in their 'summer version'; B Stone also makes an 'all season' version, as do other brands. Mine are non-run flat.

As for your current 17" wheels: I assume they are style '57s. I ran a set of those with dedicated winter tires for a few 'winters' when we lived full time at our seasonal Mtn home. They ran well in winter conditions.

The 19" 132s are bolt on with no problem, if they are legit OE. They will feel/drive/track/steer differently in 'feel' than you are used to, but no big deal.

Thanks for the reply! That is very helpful. I guess I need to decide if I want to go from my nice, lightweight, cheap 17s to something that will weigh a ton and also cost me a thousand bucks for tires in a year or two. The cheapest tires on Tire Rack are $840 plus install. I am looking to spend $400 on studless tires for my 17s later this year, if I go down this road. This reminds me of my old MR2 turbo -- that car had oddball staggered sizes as well, which were even more impossible to find tires for.

The problem is I only put about 3,000 miles per year on the car. It guzzles so much gas that I only drive it when I need a second car or when we are towing the camper. Buying new tires doesn't make a whole lot of financial sense.

I do really like the look the of them though...
