best buy instal car won't start

Went to Best Buy and had them instal a sirus radio in my 2002 x5. Everything works power wise except the car won't start. It is sitting in garage at Best Buy tonight because the people there have no clue what is up.
They think the security system in my car has shut down the car so it won't start.
Any advice on whats up.

Everything works, lights, radio, power windows, locks. But the car will not start. It does not even attempt to turn over. Something with the Electronic Immobilization System i think. Is this right what to do?

hold up. that's really weird. just where and how did they install a sirius radio module?

are you saying the car doesn't crank? does it kinda click? once then nothing happens but the lights, etc remain on?

if so, the battery does not have sufficient charge to crank the car.
jump it.

don't forget to turn on the rear fan prior to jumping to prevent electrical overload per the manual.

unless they screwed with the wiring in the ignition stalk, that is your problem.

if its a 2002, its time for the battery to head 'south' especially if the car was left in the ACC position while fitting the radio.

good luck

If it is a dead battery, I would make Best Buy pay for my replacement.

I had a wierd situation and I ended up pulling the negative baterry for 5 minutes and then the car started up. When I tried to start it, I got nothing, not even a click. After the reset it worked fine.

I originally performed the reset for a minute and that did not work, I re did it for 5 minutes and it worked. Hope this helps.
