Unhappy problem installing back up camera system

I am trying to install a back up camera system on a 2004 X5. The system works with the key on number 2 position but does not work when the eng in me is running? The Camera mounted on the upper rear panel is c ok none Ted to the how wire of the reverse lights and ground. The monitor is connected via RCA cable from the camera and has a direct 12 volt connected to it and a dedicated ground! Any help would be appreciated as this is very frustrating trying to get it working!

Reverse lights are PWM controlled by the light control module. Will cause problems when tapping into them. Use a relay triggered by the reverse lights.

Problem with backup camera
Thank you for the info - I will hook up a relay between The backup light and camera hot wires.
