Passenger Door Cenrtal Locking Stopped Working
Hi My central locking has stopped working on the passenger front door. When I lock the car from the key fob all the other doors and the tailgate lock fine apart from the passenger front door. The same thing happens if I put the key into the drivers door lock and lock the car using the key. Everything else locks apart from the passenger front door. I can lock the passenger front door by pushing the little button down and then unlock it by pulling on the inside door release handle. Is there some sort of electrical control module inside the door which may be faulty? Thanks for your help in advance |

I haven't done the door lock actuator on the X5, but I did one on my E46M3. I found instructions on M3 Forum in the e46m3 stickies at the top. Look there for some idea on what you need to do. I doubt it varies that much, but I could be wrong...

check this post in DIY - http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/...k-problem.html
one of the tricky things, is the plug on the side of the door - it is hard to remove but it is doable... the plug covers the access hole for the screw that holds the lock to the door, and to get to that screw, your screwdriver (i forgot if it is phillips or allen screw), needs to be perpendicular to the surface of the side of the door, pointing towards interior of the car... it is hard to explain, but imagine, you are using a key to manually unlock a door. your key points at the door, then it enters to the keyhole on the surface of the door (this sounded too sexist, didn't it???!!!)... the screwdriver point the same direction as the key would have, but instead of entering a hole on the surface of the door, it enters through the hole under the plug that you should remove - it will enter into that hole under a crazy angle... it took me a good half an hour and bright flash light to finally figure that part out!!! lol... good luck |
