What is my car telling me?

Today my flashers (both front/back) went on when I drove out of my parking space for lunch. The alarm was enabled, I disabled, started the car and drove off. The indicators in the dash did NOT flash as the outside lights were flashing. The Hazard switch would not turn it on/off.

My only resolution was to park, turn car off, set the alarm, disable the alarm and re-start the car...everything was back to normal.

Is this an indicator that my alarm went off or ???

search thru the E53 threads and you'll see that it has happened before...its random.
(BTW, if the alarm had gone off the high beams, and not the hazards, would be flashing.)

Some alarms notify the owner that they wen off by blinking after the fact. Not sure if X's do that.

...not sure either about the visual, but I do know from experience that the dreaded 3 beeps means your alarm has been set off by something or someone:http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...ght=ned+beatty

Well how about this, I somehow managed to set the alarm with the driver door unlocked, and then when I hit the lock button again, the door didn't lock so I had to unlock and re-lock to set the alarm and get the driver door to lock.
