16:9 Widescreen

I swapped out my widescreen navigation display due to a color issue with the LCD on my e38 and the background lighting is green vs the typical amber lighting. Has anyone seen this before? I figured I'd ask here since the screen came out of an 7/03 X5 4.6iS.

Inquiring minds want to know. I'm curious myself even though it doesn't apply to me.

I turned on the lights to back it out of the garage last night after swapping it in and was just like hmmm something seems off... The illumination that is visible behind the knobs is because I used e90 navi knobs with the chromeline trim. Those knobs are a bit smaller so it allows the light to illuminate around them but it should be amber.

Someone must have changed the backlighting LEDs.

By the way did you know that the screen itself is different on E53 vs. E39 or E38? With polaroid lenses you can see that they are 90 degrees off.

I think the screen is the same but the internal adjustment is different? Although the VIN stored within is from an 07.03 4.6iS, I wonder if its from a range rover and that's why it has the green lighting? How would one change the LEDs?

LEDs are almost certainly surface mounted. Not terribly difficult to change with the right tools but not a beginner job

I feel it has to do something with being a later model unit. I looked on eBay and all of the range rover ones have a land rover part number on it.

Many LEDs are multi color it might be a setting or dip switch

I saw a section in NCS Dummy that shows the monitor can be programmed for a range rover and even a mini but I am unable read the coding of the monitor with NCS.I have no idea if this will make any difference if changed but I was willing to try it.

GT is the navigation module, not the screen itself which can't be coded. I think this coding option is for screen layout.
