Differences in Diesel models

This will be a question for the non-Americans as they didn't get the diesel.

I'm on Autodoc looking at parts and was wondering what the difference is between these two? If I change the selection, some parts say they don't fit! I wouldn't want to order the wrong part!

How can I tell which version my X5 is? Mine is a UK 3.0D registered in April 2006 if that helps.

A facelift (9/2003->) 3.0d should be 160 kW. Not sure if that 155 kW model was for some marketing area.

Anyways it's proven to be unreliable choosing correct parts according to Autodoc part selections. Better to get the original part number first from RealOEM and then source available parts according to that. Autodoc is usually not even the cheapest source for many parts and if anything goes wrong with the parts ordered it's a nightmare trying to sort it out with them.

It depends what kind of parts we are talking about. Some parts I want as original from different OEM sellers and I also use several sources for after market variants.

Could you tell me some of the websites that you order from? Obviously if they are Finnish-only then they are of no use to me!

I'm looking for a new aircon fan at a reasonable price and a full brake system refresh at the moment (upgrading to IS calipers).

On the topic of OEM manufacturers; do we have a list somewhere? I only know a few. Textar for brakes for example.

I've used ATE brake parts (one of the OE manufacturers). Here one site I've frequently used.

https://www.motointegrator.de/

And here is Estonian company. I don't know if they have English version of their website.

https://aeromotors.fi/

For original parts I've used my own contacts or these sellers.

I know that the 155 kW version was made specifically for the Belgian market and they just have a different engine tune, everything else is exactly the same.
