For those that have traded their X5's in...
After the truck is out of the shop for its check engine, i think i might trade it in to get a facelifted one... But question is, how do they go abouts looking/testing your truck?...Liiike lets say you need new brakes and the rotors shake pretty bad...Will the price be docked off what they give me for the truck? Thanks! |

In my experience, dealers in Oz just look at the exterior/interior, check the build plates and a cursory look in the engine bay. I have never had a dealer take any of my cars for a drive (I keep my cars real clean!). Mind you I usually sell privately as dealer trade-in values are pretty woeful.

If you have time you can try selling yourself. I sold my last X5 on www.cars.com to a used car dealer and got 4k more than what I was getting on trade-in.
