For those that have traded their X5's in...
After the truck is out of the shop for its check engine, i think i might trade it in to get a facelifted one... But question is, how do they go abouts looking/testing your truck?...Liiike lets say you need new brakes and the rotors shake pretty bad...Will the price be docked off what they give me for the truck? Thanks!

In my experience, dealers in Oz just look at the exterior/interior, check the build plates and a cursory look in the engine bay. I have never had a dealer take any of my cars for a drive (I keep my cars real clean!). Mind you I usually sell privately as dealer trade-in values are pretty woeful.

If you have time you can try selling yourself. I sold my last X5 on www.cars.com to a used car dealer and got 4k more than what I was getting on trade-in.
