Tow hitch bumper carrier?
I found a complete OEM hitch in the junkyard a few months back, and grabbed everything I could think of that looked to be part of the hitch package. Well it turns out I missed the module (got the wiring) and the rear bumper carrier (beam). It seems that this was part of the original kit, and people sell it with the carrier.
How badly did I screw up? Can the stock carrier be made to work? Thanks! 2002 X5 3.0 |

I also bought the kit without the metal bumper (aka "euro bumper"). So I had to used a die grinder to cut out the middle section to make it fit. It needed a small amount of clearance, but the metal tack welded metal plate had to go, as well as a small section of the bar. (I might have a photo of it, it was years ago.)

I can't find the "after" photo but this shows where I started to cut the metal plate. There is an L piece under that had to be cut out slightly as well.
