Foxwell NT510 Elite on sale today at Amazon

FYI: the Foxwell NT510 Elite scan-tool (with BMW programming) is on sale during Amazon's Prime Day sale. I'm not connected in any way with either, but figured I'd give a heads-up to anyone wanting this scan-tool.

I haven't used mine on my X5 yet (I bought it in January with GM programming...and it worked as advertised on my HHR Panel), having just swapped for it, with no major problems to fix yet. But, I have already bought and installed BMW programming on my scan-tool ($80).

Any reason to go with the 510 vs the newer 624 for $50 more?

624 not a bi directional scanner. Worthless.

Make sure to update the software when you get it. You will definitely not be sorry. Be careful poking around don't try things too far out for no good reason eg don't play with reset self leveling suspension unless it's needed.

Things like "set ac blower to 50%" by all means do that just don't run commands that set things that aren't needed

They can set blower speeds? After the other thread about changing the blower motor, I'll definitely make the change. Who wants to take an entire dash out?

Are any transmission changes available? I would like to increase line pressure. I have my transmission builders bump pressure for longer life. Adding an external cooler is even better.

And I was trying to be subtle and generic to avoid putting salt in that wound.

I've gotten into trouble myself with the self leveling calibration. There is no "I was just looking" option to leave the submenu. Fortunately the 510 has a reset button they removed from 520.
