Self levelling suspension inactive

Hi all

My 4.6is presented me with a ‘self levelling suspension inact’ error message today. In addition, the lights for gear indicators are not working - not sure if it’s related.

Any ideas where to start with the diagnosis?

Start with INPA/DIS or a scanner to get any codes. What were you doing prior to the warning message? Hit any bumps ...drive on any very uneven pavement? Those can dislodge the height sensors and make it act all pissy.

Lots of potentials but if you post the codes there may be a much more direct path to diagnosis.

Nice one thank you. I’ll try get my hands on a scanner and narrow things down.

When the PRND lights aren't writing properly the top suspect is the main connector to the transmission.

I've had mine get water in it three times. I think it comes though the cable.

OK so if I take the console apart to have a look and the hard wiring?

No what I'm referring to is under the car.

Ok so, I took the car for a drive, left it for an hour or two, and when I came back I started it up and all problems went away. Lights on the gear stick came back, no more error code for the air suspension and the steering height auto adjusts on start-up. That seemed to make it disappear. Took it for a drive today and all the issues are back - bizzare

Were you able to pull the codes?

Not managed to get to a garage yet. Will post as soon as. Going for a bit of a drive seems to resolve it temporarily, happened again today.
