P0500 question

So I have an e53, 3.0 with this code. Correct me if I'm wrong but it is supposed to be the rear left sensor correct? Is there another sensor on the transmission or transfer case cause the one I got from Rock auto doesn't have a pigtail. I did replace the left rear sensor and I still get the code but my speedo does work fine now. Am I missing something?

The code is generic. It should be the transmission sensor. A rear left code should have a number in the 4th position.

Sorry no. I have not looked closely at the GM transmission. Mostly of them are at the rear either left or right side. On 4X4s, the sensor can be on the transfer case. I don't think our xdrive has a speed speed sensor.
