2 axle front airbag confusion on FCP euro?

looking to replace all 4 airbags on the 4.8is.

looked up the part#s for

Front left - 37116761443
Front right- 37116761444
Rear left - 37121095579
Rear right - 37121095580

when i search FCP euro for say the front left 37116761443

it shows me 2 options. one is a complete bag and strut assembly Arnot

https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...arnott-as-2306

and then it shows just a bag assembly alone

https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...tt-37116761443

which one do I get?

i had no idea that the bag was able to be removed and replaced from the strut assembly.

i always see people getting just the complete strut bag assembly.

For that price delta, I’d get the strut assembly.

both front left and right complete strut assemblies are sold out with no ETA so i just wanted to confirm that if i get the bag assembly alone would it be ok and work still?

like i said i had no idea the bag and strut were 2 pieces and could be separated.

How are your struts?
Are they leaking?

They are 2 pieces, think of the airbag as the spring, sometimes they are called "airsprings" so on the models without 2 axle air, the front would have struts and a coil spring. I believe that some of the 3.0 models had rear coil springs on them as well, but I may be confusing that with an e39
