Gear shift knob broke inside

Hard to explain, easy to show.

I installed the Chinese aftermarket knob facing away from me by mistake, so I tried to pull it out to install it properly.
Whine pulling it out, the plastic piece broke and stayed inside.
I've googles but haven't seen anyone else with the same issue.
I have no idea how to get the piece that's stuck out now.
Apart from taking the shifter apart, which I really don't feel like doing

Just wondering if it happened to anyone before and how people resolved it

Started following the video to remove the gearshift completely, and miraculously the broken off piece fell out.
I got really lucky...

Will glue it back together now

That will break again if you try to remove it after installing.

WB weld is really strong, probably many times stronger than the plastic itself.
I remember a plastic radiator hose connector broke off on my E39.
Patched it up with WB weld and drove like that for months, without any issues.
