Exterior Window trim Chrome or Black and Mirrors
Yep, me again with my Plethora of questions...
Sorry, my brain is always coming up with new ideas for things when they are a problem. So, problem the first! Car park dickheads force their way between the car and push my "Non Folding" mirrors forwards, breaking the glass and damaging the mounting. They are not electric but I would like them to be. My question here, are E70 mirrors the same dimension at the mounting point? ie the triangular frame into the door? Can the car be made to accept electric folding mirrors that will work? I have already fitted indicators to the mirrors, so that is no issue as far as wiring goes. Problem the second! I noticed the window trim, on mine it is blackout trim has a strange bubbling effect near the triangle shape of the mirror mount. Is this just a coating over the normal trim. Could I use a paint such as the spray type used to peel off if I rub it back and clean it up? I have checked some I used on some old mag wheels some years ago on my trailer and it is an identical colour match and retains the rubber feel. Last thought while in this mode, are the drop down tailgate light for the E70 and the E53 the same? from images they look it, but has anyone ever tried it? Reason so much E70 parts questions, my uncle has one for parts but he lives a days drive away, a bit far for a try and fit after surgery. If any of these are certain, I am willing to give up a week to get there and back. Cheers all, Jeff
