I had a problem with mine.
I believe I used bmwscanner 1.4 to give me an idea what was wrong.
It was somewhat helpful, none of the scanners will be 100% accurate.
Just get a voltmeter and check each wire for continuity and shorts.
I'll try to find my post where I fixed my sensors

Read through my posts.
PDC system is pretty simple a actually, not too many parts to it. I posted all the diagrams and pintouts you'll need.
Can you scan with bmwscanner? It's a really useful tool to have, you just need a cable.

You said you couldn't figure out how to use INPA. Bmwscanner is way less complicated. Though INPA is not that hard, it's just intimidating at first.
There's lots of videos on YouTube and lots of posts on forums about how to set up and use INPA.

I'd say for now grab a simple multimeter and start checking your wires for shorts and voltage.

BMW Scanner works well for reading the sensors with a scan of distance settings as well as reprogramming the distances or module settings. That's what I used on my E53 PDC retrofit. $15 for a cable and a Win 7 or earlier laptop and you have everything you need.

I didn't even know you could reprogram module settings or distance!
BTW bmwscanner works fine on windows 10 as well

I know every time MS throws out an update, it screws up the FTDI drivers. Best to stay Win 7 or earlier. I have an old Toughbook running XP specifically for my BMW programs. INPA, BMW Scanner, NCS Expert, etc

right so my scanner arrived yesterday didn't have time till this evening to try it , eagerly plugged it in bit of on the job training did a full code scan found loads of stored faults none active not found with my snap on one so instantly impressed with that but it showed no faults with the pdc system , not really knowing what i was doing i found the part showing the clearance distance i think it was of the sensors , it was here that i noticed when i pressed the pdc button the front middle left went from 255cm to 22cm and the rear right went from 255cm to 148cm where as all others didn't alter so i am assuming these are faulty sensors.
