HID Troubles

Hey all, I’m back again. This time it’s with my headlight. I was driving back to university last weekend when I get a “CHECK LOWBEAM BULB” message on my OBC. And when I stop at a friends house along the way, my passenger side low beam was dead. Ok, new bulb! I got a set for $60 and installed it, but when it wouldn’t turn on. Suddenly, it turned on, and I left it alone. I come out the next afternoon, and have a friend check to see if it was on, and we discovered that it would flicker a bit, and then turn off every time you turned the lights on. I do t think I messed up the HID bulb connection, and the install went fairly smooth. Anybody have any advice? I’m looking into getting an OBD2-USB adapter for my laptop to find the problem and maybe see why I have the air suspension error code as well.

Thanks for the help,

Benjamin

Probably your ignition element for that light. Item 2 in the link: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=63_0833

SOLVED

I figured out the issue was a ballast. I found one for $50 and put it in with relative ease (which is quite unusual given the car I’m working on). Thanks to all who helped me out!
