X5 drive shaft problems for 5th time
So first I had carrier bearing failure. Replaced myself. Then c.v joint at rear so replaced entire shaft with rock auto part for around$ 450. Then c.v bad again. Replaced with new shaft from auto parts .com. Then c.v went bad again because of no grease, replaced with rock auto part around $350. Now carrier bearing out again. I thought I was preloadeding bearing by pushing it forward before tightening but that may have caused the problem. So now I think just shoving that thing forward a bit before tightening is not a good idea.
