Another Lockout Post

I got an 04' X5 3.0 about a year ago and it only came with one key (the FOB battery is dead or its damaged). I've been manually locking/unlocking without any issue but to my horror, this morning it turns freely, left and right. After searching around, it appears to be a common problem so I've ordered the cylinder repair kit off amazon but now I need to get into the car. I've read the posts about cutting/drilling out the cylinder, the door pry method and the mention of secret rear tab trick. I've PM'd a few people who have had the same issue on here so hopefully they can provide some insight but no response yet. I am mechanically inclined and already replaced the lower rear door latch electric actuator motor, as that was already non-functional but wasn't aware of the frail material used on the locking cylinder. Any help would be very much appreciated!

andrewwynn will become famous soon enough
You can get into the car with "usual suspects" of lock smith. (air wedge which you can often buy at big box stores) to bend the door to access the central lock button.

That alone will not unlock the doors you also need to double pull one of the door handles so I recommend a very long hooked metal rod to pull the opposite side. Be prepared to jump in quick to use the key to squelch the alarm.

(You need two rods one to press the central lock to deactivate the double lock and one to pull the door handle to unlock the door).
