Steering column adjustment not working already replaced seat module still doesn't wor
So I replaced the seat memory module and the seats work and the memory works just fine. But now the steering column doesn't work at all like it doesn't even click. I tried pulling the fuse to let it reset. I even tried pulling the plug to the steering column adjustment stalk but That didn't help. I hope it's not the steering column adjustment motor. What are the odds that that goes completely bad right when I replace the seat module? |

Not a brand new one. I have a box full of parts and I have about four driver side sport seat modules from an E46 and e53 E46, and e83 all use the same seat module part number in real OEM.
The one I took out originally that wasn't working. Never lit up the red M button. None of the memory buttons worked at all and when I tried to adjust it would do it in small increments micro adjustments. I swapped in a known good seat module from an E46 M3 which is the same exact part. It's actually an updated part versus the one that's in mine and everything works great. Memory programming memory recall full adjustment, no problem. But the steering column still won't adjust. This morning when I was trying to adjust the steering column I would press up and it would go down micro adjustments and I was like okay that's wrong so I kept trying to press up and it would just keep going down until it bottom down and then it wouldn't do anything now after replacing the seat module with the known good one staring column adjustment still doesn't work. I'm wondering if maybe the two motors for front back left and right are binded somehow I need to be removed to relieve pressure or something. I also tried unplugging the plugs to both motors to see if it'll reset them but it didn't help. So for now my steering column is stuck all the way down. I'd say the problem is most likely in the seat module.

Yeah I doubt that. I tried all four of my replacements seat modules and They all work fine compared to the original one that came out of my seat that didn't work.
Hopefully I'll be able to figure it out Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk |
