Downunder 3.0D sports pack

This
Is my 2004 3.0 diesel sports pack
It has panoramic sunroof
No side steps (rare)
In alpine white iii (rare)

For Australian markets side steps were incredibly (honestly 99% of the ones on the road) common
Having an early facelift with a panoramic roof is also pretty uncommon too...

My friends imola 4.4 facelift sport only has the normal roof

Anyway
Off topic...

I bought this 3.0D sight unseen, from a lady on Facebook
For $1000AUD

The roadside mechanic had claimed catastrophic failure of some suspension components

Undriveable she was told

Fortunately it wasn't

It had LCM damage and loom damage
Front thrust bushes a bit average
Cracked exhaust manifold
Broken drivers door carrier

Usual e53 things

It was filthy
But fired first shot
Serviced every 10k kms like clockwork
Brand new Valeo alt
Full tank of diesel
And new rear tyres

Too good to lose!

Got it home
Did some cleaning
And turned into a not too shabby unit...

Next entry I'll go through some more of what's been done
What's planned
And what's needed.

Nice spec! Wish we got the clear reflectors in the US. I have that same head unit- if you don’t mind what launcher are you using to make it look like idrive?

wpoll- I got mine from XTRONS but I think AVIN is selling the same unit. It’s a 10.25” e53 specific.

Haha, I wish I had the yellow indicators!
And 100% correct, it is the xtrons unit

The launcher I use is

You never know quite how bad your headlights are sometimes when you look at them
I thought, yeah they're not that bad...

Then I had them polished
Ok
They were pretty bad

That is a cheap one. It had to be roll over or something to get facelift e53 for that kind of money in here.

Great score! Smoking deal.

And thanks for posting that launcher. Going to install that STAT. I HATE the stock launcher that came with my no-name Android unit.

So continuing on

After am inspection by one of the techs at work
We decided on
Rear upper control arms
Front lower bushes
Front out cv boots
Turbo manifold
Rear bump stops
Aux fan was cactus and was replaced
New windscreen
Full service kit
Aux belt
Main belt
Tensioners
Oils
Filters
Wipers
Front tyres were average so decided to go to an 18" all terrain using some old wheels from my e46

And geez
A few other things

There's a fair whack I'm probably skipping

Doing this on mobile isn't the bestest of ideas, but the motivation for uploading all my photos and stuff
Eh
Not there these days...

So this weekend should be seeing everything torn out and swapped over etc
Tyres are being fit on Saturday to the Hamanns

And then next week should be ready for a rwc

Also known as an MOT or an Inspection to get my plates

Then we start looking at swirl flap delete, egr delete, remap and minor lift....

Oh and my brother took my e31 to a car show because I was a bit under the weather

A friend of mine took his 6speed manual lemans blue 3.0d e53 too
You can see it far left in the background raised on muddies.

Unless the car was a Euro 4 (?) tune from the factory, it won't have swirl flaps. They were only ever fitted to the 30d E53 in some Euro markets - not even in the UK.

Check RealOEM with the VIN number.
