Instrument Cluster Repair-Any Recommendations

2003 X5.
Gauges (needles) are intermittent. Sometimes they all work just fine. Sometimes they slowly move up into position, then all drop back down to zero. Sometimes the needles do not move at all after starting the car.

There are a few other threads in this group with the same issue, but no solution ever presented. Removing the cluster fuses, turning the key then reinstalling the fuses does not solve my issue.

Any recommendations on anywhere that repairs these clusters? I contacted United Radio that fixes a lot of auto clusters, but they won't fix this one. Lot's of places to the LCD screen only.

I can easily get a replacement cluster (the local junk yard has several cars with available clusters), but I would need someone to code the new cluster to the car.

Thanks

Coding the cluster is easy if you do a swap. You just need pa soft. Get it on Amazon.

If you swap clusters, you'll need to reprogram vin and mileage. To change mileage you need to reprogram or change m35080 chip. For this, the chip needs to be desoldered and removed from the board.
Fixels will fix it for you and everything will work properly

I'm sure he can just fix your needles without changing your cluster as well.

Fixels is a good dude. Had him reset the mileage and change the backlight on my 4.6 cluster. Quick turn around and good communications

Add my vote for Fixels. Paul did a great job replacing my trashed 4.4i cluster with a later model cluster and reprograming it to seamlessly work in my car.
