ECS "Wagen" Skid Plate

Hi guys! I recently saw that ECS now carries a limited-run skid plate that is a direct fit on the E53. Has anyone here gotten it yet?
I'm wondering a few things about it though. It's claimed to be approx. 30lb, so how much heavier is that than the belly pan that is on the car stock? Is there anything I should keep in mind about a skid plate, like downsides to having one, or issues that may arise from it? Thanks for your time and insight!

Don't know anything about it, but thought I'd post photos and link in case anyone else wants to weigh in.

wpoll will become famous soon enough
FYI... this doesn't replace the existing alloy (or steel) reinforcing plate under the engine - it only replaces the plastic splash guard directly behind the bumper.

That E53 has a story! They used it on their YT channel as a "winter beater" and took it offroading and such.

All 20 year old cars have a story

To me a few simple photoshop clone tool clicks and it would present much better as the official model for new product.

Not that it would deter me from buying the skid plate if I was in the market but it just looks junky to me...and I drive shit boxes

Weird, I can't find the yt channel for that company, any obvious search doesn't give me results

Are you referring to the X5 used by ECS Tuning in their "Winter Beater 2" series on yt? Here's the playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiGW...Oczu_mSK4D3qyy
