09/2001 remote keyfob and parking heater remote not working

Hi

I have a 09/2001 E53 X5 3.0d (EU Spec).

Not too long ago, both the remote keyfob and the (OE equipped) parking heater remote stopped working - apparently at the exact same time.

I've been studying TIS, but I can't find anything concrete regarding if these two systems are using the same diversity antenna. Only that troubleshooting the parking heater includes locking / unlocking with the regular keyfob - and if this doesn't work, communications are to be blamed.

I've fixed the wire for the upper trunk latch - there was no continuity from the GM to the plug at the latch, so a broken wire might be what's up here.

I just don't want to chase this route, if the two systems (remote keyfob and parking heater remote) uses two different antenna systems. :-)

Does anyone know if this is or isn't the case?
