Are there any BMW certified mobile mechanics in the KC Area?

I believe Autohaus out of Lawrence might still be up and running.

I haven't been back to the area since I was stationed at Ft. Leavenworth in the 90's.

Welcome to the site.
What's the issue with your X5?
Locally, a BMW tech posts as a mobile weekend mechanic on Craigslist. I almost called him once, but changed my mind after signing up here. I was trying to fix the trifecta lights. A new transfer case gear fixed it up.

I think my ECU is bad. I've had a few different code readers up to it and they either say that ECU is not responding or is not detected.

Are all fuses good? Is the key in run position? Pull the DME cover. Check for loose connectors. Disconnect the battery and check for connection corrosion.

Check your OBD2 port for cracks. A crack can keep the plug from making contact correctly, all it takes is for the code reader plug to be pulled at an angle. (old plastic)

Don't ask how I know....
