Need advice on leak

Hi guys,

Sadly yesterday after coming home from the shop, my car “thank me” with a small puddle by the front left wheel

I tried to investigate where it could be coming from, but I didn’t notice it until it was too late and I only managed to see a few drops. I attached photos of where I think it was coming from, my guess is it was the middle of the 3 hoses. I thought it would be coolant at first, since I’ve been having loads of issues in the past year, but it didn’t taste like it. I tried to go on another drive right after so that I can see it dripping again, but even after half an hour nothing came out this time.

Any idea what this is supposed to be? I don’t want to start doing anything on it until I figure out what I am actually supposed to be dealing with here.

well it can only be coolant, brake fluid, oil, gasoline/diesel, power steering fluid or water (from AC condensation or rainwater)

Doesn't look like oil, or power steering fluid, or proper coolant

Did it evaporate quickly? Water

The remainder that I managed to get to definitely didn’t feel like oil, but more like water. But it did leave a mark on the ground, so I’m inclined to say it’s not purely water.

I have not been able to figure out where it could be from. Based on some research I have done, those hoses I think I saw something dripping from, are connected to the heating/AC system. Strange part about that is, I have not had AC turned on in a few weeks now since temperatures are slowly going down over here. Hasn’t rained in some time either.

Do you have a webasto heater?

If it's right by the tire/steering hub then leaking strut/shock absorber is also in the differential.

It’s actually up top, behind the right side of the engine. Don’t think airstruts can leak water

Here's a picture of a webasto in an e53.

They are an aux heater that operates with the car off and a small leak when they cycle on to slow cool down fits with your leak area. (If you have it)

Ah in that case definitely a no.

I went to try it out today again and I think I may have found the culprit - I have a small leak on my front left screen washer, which would definitely fit the area and also it being watery. Will keep an eye on it though in the coming days.
