Fuel pump/relay?
I found a good write up on pelican parts to test the fuel pump and relay, but before jumping into I thought I would see if there are any ideas on if it might be something else. It is an e53 04 4.4 n62. No errors coming up on INPA. I turn the key to on and it all lights up, ready to crank……but doesn’t even try. The battery is new and had that replaced. It normally starts after a while, but I just had it happen when driving for the first time and not when stationary. Cheers. |

The fuel pump relay has nothing to do with "cranking." You had the new battery replaced?
"It normally starts after a while, but I just had it happen when driving for the first time and not when stationary." ----Not even sure what any of that means ???

Hi, from what I had read the fuel pump needs to prime and get ready, otherwise the car won’t even attempt to crank - which is what is happening. Not no crank, but not even getting to that stage.
The issue persists and then after 10min of nothing, other than dash lights all on when key is on position. After a number of attempts, it decides to crank and starts. This happens on cold and hot starts. The engine stopped the other day when driving and the same no start issue persisted for 5min - no errors in INPA. Mentioned ready to crank as when it is a low battery, it at least tries u til no juice is left and you get no lights or anything. |

Ignition switch (contacts) going bad?
Could also be the IVM?
