I had my doubts too but I really think it looks OEM.
This type of tips is quite common on many other makes and I didn't want anything too blingy.
The factory ones simply had to go.

Yeah, straight out tips look great. The one note that I will make is that the N62 mufflers sound dramatically different, without adding drone or other highway unpleasantness.

Nick, do you know if N62B44 (4.4i, not 4.8iS) mufflers are a bolt-on for early 3.0i cars?

Everything but the 4.8is has the same flange at the front, so yeah they will work. I actually used 4.4i pipes to make my 4.8is mufflers work.

correct, I put the 4.6 mufflers on my 3.0i too without an issue

might be putting them up for sale once I get my new exhaust this week from a little test I'm doing to see if I can get a bit more rasp out of my v6 LOL
