diagnosing door lock actuator
Rear right actuator, makes a faint noise like it's trying to do something however the result is When locking door (central locking or key fob) the actuator unlocks When unlocking it unlocks When using key fob, it unlocks on first click (along with driver door) passenger doors should wait for double clicks to unlock not sure if it is the actuator itself or GM the actuator plug has 7 pins, labelled 1 2 4 5 6 7 8 don't know which is ground or expected function and voltage of each, so it's getting difficult to diagnose any thoughts or experience please share. Thanks.

More clarity needed.
You said when you lock with key it unlocked the door? There are two motors in the lock actuator, the first motor runs on all doors to enable the other three doors when set to only unlock the driver door first. When that motor fails you can't open the door with either inside or outside door handle. Usually when DLA motor fails it will work either lock or unlock and initially some of the time. It should not matter if it's activated with fob or lock button except the disable motor doesn't disable the handles when locked from central lock.

How does one set the doors to unlock only the driver's and not all four, like mine does? I don't recall seeing anything in the nav screen settings.

It's very common failing motor only works one direction so only unlocks would be a normal failure.
If you sit in the back and hit the key fob lock but then push the lock button the door handle should do nothing. Key fob press unlock driver door should unlock and the other three should activate so the inside handles work. If that's the case with RR, You've determined that the primary lock motor only works in the unlock direction which is the most common failure. Search awr-fix with my username I wrote a $12 repair vs. $240 replace guide.

Haven't had e53 since a deer killed mine late '21 but i made a good #of helpful guides abs still monitor e53 forum when i have time. I now own e70 which doesn't "double lock" which is terrible for theft prevention but reduces the risk of getting trapped in a car if the double lock malfunctioned.
The gas tank is much smarter on e53: very reliable gauge and you can use the last gallon of gas even on hills. If the video is still live you can watch after i put the DLA back in my wife's car how the first button press spins the disable motor and the second button press spins the actual unlock motor. They must have completely redone the DLA on e70 and the siphon jet pump as I've not seen any issues on the e70 forum for either of those or the door handle carrier. My e70 turned 200 kmi last year and I have to believe the main fuel pump was replaced before i bought (mtbf is usually about 133 kmi). But I've not had to deal with siphon jet or any door lock or handle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
