I know - weird eh?

You need an oil pump to fill the ZF 6HP26 with this type of fill plug. I use a hand pump.

I also use ZF LifeGuard 6 fluid - available form most auto trans parts suppliers.

No wonder they call us the land down under, they must think we can fill the bloody things from the bottom FFS...

To be honest, I have never looked at the bottom of my trans, other than the passing glance as I worked on the transfer case or the fuel filter.

I must say that without stepping out into this rain, I thought it looked rather smooth across the bottom, but I have been known to be wrong on occasions So, I'll wait for better weather before I get my broken and half robot body under it again.

While you are hanging around, I don't suppose you know of any wiring harnesses available for the M57Nd Injectors at all, do you?

Thanks for the link on the oil and I'll let you know what my sump is like.

Thks, Jeff

Also, being here in downunder land, what is the Brand name of the products used and the ZF oil used.

To the OP, how much oil did you use in your oil flush out sequence overall?

Thanks, Jeff

As I recall, I drained roughly 4 litres ran for a bit to cycle through all the nooks & crannies. Did the same a second time, then on third drain & fill added the magic potions plus about 3 litres, so very roughly 11 l of transmission fluid, plus the treatments.

Thanks Ken, does your trans have the same system as Wayne mentioned, both drain and refill on the bottom of the sump?
Those figures are really helpful, very much appreciated

Mine is the ZP 5HP24; that has a fill port in the case at back, above the pan.
