Kiwi E53 3.0D ABS, Brake & ABS Trifecta Warning Lights

Hi All,
I know this has been posted previously, but I can’t seem to find the thread & solutions proposed….

I have an 09/2006 E53 X5 3.0D that is displaying the dreaded trifecta of warning lights. - 4x4, ABS & Brake Failure.

Diagnostic codes identified are:
4F7A - Signal from Transfer Case Faulty
5F3A - Transfer Case Internal

Transfer Box (VGS)
5463 - Mechanism Faulty
55C4 - No Message from DSC

Car is only driving in rear wheel drive, no 4WD.

I’ve just replaced the ATC unit with a new one, and it hasn’t resolved the problem.
The mechanic that did the service repair work suggested that the ATC unit wasn’t the culprit, as the mechanism worked but wouldn’t reach far enough into the transmission to engage the 4WD.

Car has done 337000KM (mine since 2008 at 28000km).

What does the forum suggest as the next triage step to identity the fault and rectify please.
