Rear Wheel Bearing Flange=M10 x 1.0 bolts?

I received an FAG wheel bearing for the rear of my '03. I pressed it on the hub without issue and went to bolt it back into the bearing carrier and has a heck of a time trying to get any of the bolts started. I found out quickly enough; the threaded holes are too small. They're 10mm, not 12mm. Stranger still, they're what I would guess is a really weird thread pitch for any suspension or chassis part-M10 x 1.0. What in the world could these be for? There's a split in August or September of '03, but both use M12 x 1.5 fasteners. If i had a proper drill press and a solid way to secure the assembly I could just drill them out and re-tap the holes, as everything else is correct. Has anyone else come across this?
