Electrical Issue

Hi, I have a 2005 3.0d - it’s been mostly fine but a strange issue has developed.

The fasten seat belt warning has been going off when it isn’t occupied, even with the belt clipped in the warning persists.

The air bag light illuminates

Wipers stop working and occasionally the CD player.

Now it has Trans fail safe warning..

I have checked the boot for water and damp which people have advised - bone dry. What could it be? Thanks

First thing to come to mind would be the ignition switch. They are known to give trouble so replacing that wouldn't be money wasted if it isn't at least part of the problem. The battery and charging system need to be in good shape on these vehicles as well.

I agree on the ignition switch! You can try these steps to help confirm.

Think you may be right there… just went to the car, turned the key ignition etc lights up but won’t start, or turn over.. fuck
