Camshaft code
Hi chaps / girls..
I had a feeling that my M62tub was running a bit wrong so I scanned it with my old C310. I got a ‘22 function, inlet - camshaft control bank 2’ fault. What does that mean? Is it the cam sensor or maybe one of the vanos solenoids not working correctly? And which side is bank 2 when looking toward the front of the car from outside? Thanks in advance (no pun intended) |

It's saying control fault means the vanos solenoid or actual variable gear inside is not doing it's job.
Bank one is the starboard side bank two is the port side. Most often people will start with pull vanos solenoid and clean then on cars where it's easy enough to get to them swap banks to see if the problem migrates. Bank two is cars left side will be on your right when facing the front of car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Ah OK. Thanks. If memory serves I think I swapped that side solenoid several years ago as it packed up. Like you say ill give it a clean first.
