and I do agree with you J.It won't throw any code since it's purpose is to detect if the hood is closed or not. You can disconnect it to see if that's fix the alarm issue. I have mine unplugged.

my first thought was also the hood position sensor. There should be diagnostic tools to read what fault the alarm module is sensing. It would likely require a visit to a very knowledgeable (Read as: Expensive) mechanic.

Battery is under 8 months Old, I also disconnected the hood sensor To see if that solves anything. I assume the dealer would have diagnostics to determine why this is happening.

Add two more fixes, there's an 03 4.6 here and my own 04 3.0 that have their hood switches unplugged.
