Battery light flashing in accessory mode

Hi, about 4 weeks ago I replaced the voltage regulator in my 3 litre diesel because the battery light was flashing (brushes worn). It’s run perfectly since then until today.

The light is flashing again, but this time it’s happening before the engine is started. It flashes as soon as the ignition is switched to accessory and continues to flash while driving.

Previously, with worn brushes, it only flashed if revs were low and even then flashing was intermittent. Now flashing is consistent from the time the ignition is switched to accessories.

I’ve checked battery terminals, wiring/cables in the back of the alternator and the charging point on the firewall. All are ok.

Any other ideas?
