Unhappy Icelink Problem - no ID3 tags

I have recently fitted the Dension Icelink to my X5. All was working fine, untill I disabled the text within the settings menu. Now I can't see the ID3 tags and can't even get into the settings menu via CD6. Is there any way of restoring the BMW satnav system to default settings?

Many thanks for your help.

Dave

Dave,

To get into settings press and hold onto #6 on your stereo...that should get you into settings and to access settings just scroll through the back and forward buttons you would use to skip tracks on the stereo not the steering wheel...from there it should be self explanatory

Pressed and held. No settings - completely gone!! I have been in touch with Dension today, who emailed me the latest firmware for the icelink plus (2.B3), installed this and still no menu. Have tried another ipod - still no menu. Disconnected the car battery for 10 minutes, still no settings menu. If I press CD6, it stays on CD6 whilst still playing music and then just reverts back to CD.. - whatever it was before.

Have I got a faulty unit here?

Regards,

Dave

I've offered to help, have not seen an email from you yet.

btw - there is no such firmware as 2.B3 - 2B2 is the latest.

Thanks for clarifying that, Tom. I was getting excited there for a minute about a new release

dave_p - contact Tom, there's no one better on this. We are very fortunate to have his knowledge and expertise available to our members here.

Just to clarify on dave's post - 2B3 is a Hungarian release, it hasn't been tested on our side yet. I'll let you know as soon as there is a new release.
