Bmwe5320023.0 is on a distinguished road
Haha thanks, got the engine out!

I found a piece of transmission bellhousing cracked and broken off. I heard the driveshaft can do that. I'll get someone to weld it on.

I pressure washed the engine, it was too dirty to do anythjng on it...I wanted to bolt it to the stand, but the bolts from transmission to engins were too short...

I ordered some more bolts and will try again tomorrow.
I guess you bolt it at the back of the engine?

For now I'm sandblasting and cleaning all the parts I'm removing.

I'm taking apart the rear diff from 4.8 and installing the locker kit from ecs tuning.

Apparently the rear antiroll bar is thicker on 4.8, I'll need to verify that.

A big disappointment is the front subframe. I was stupid and thought they were the same, and damaged the one from 4.8.
Well I should've thought it better, since V8 and i6 engines have different mounting points, so now I'll have to find another front subframe from V8.
I wonder if engine point points on 4.4 and 4.8 front subframes are the same or different.

Next step is to secure the engine to the stand, and to remove carpets and dash/center console from the donor to obtain the needed wiring.
