Exclamation 2001 X5 fan motor in dash? runs all the time

Hi, I have a problem. There is a humming noise, like a small motor that runs in my X5 all the time, even after several hours. It sound like it comes from behind the climate control unit (IHKA) and I believe it would be the inside temp sensor fan motor. Has anyone else had this problem???
You can email me directly at [email protected]
Thanks

Question rattling noise from behind climate control panel

I have noticed on my 4.4 ('01, ~ 63k) very similar to what you described. I have not resolved it yet, but one thing I can confidently say: there is no motor of any kind @ that spot. I have replaced 'final stage' resistor yearlier this year by myself (thanks to x5world's member excellent manual), and I know where the blower is located...
Interestingly enough it started along with light vibration when engine was on, and then progressed to constant rattling even with engine off and the key is out of ignition switch. That leads me to assumption that this noise is no electrical device originated. It may be some vacum house or valve which are plenty in this vehicle including climate control system. Can't suspect anything else.
Will try to pull that panel off and figure something out, if wont succeed - will go to dealer.
Will keep you updated with outcome.
If you allready resolved this , please update; thanks in advance!

I have the same problem in an 01 3.0.

I think this motor might have been responsible for a dead battery.

Did you replace the motor? If so, how?
