Vapor barrier 101
I’m still searching for my air leak noise. My wagon has a door with bad barrier. It does leak water inside the door. My E53 drivers door has an air leak that I can’t find. I have ordered both drivers door and left passenger door vapor barrier new. Hoping that calms the air noise.

Wind noise more from the outer seals. Put tape over the suspect door seal if the sound goes away you found it

Mine had the same issue...But I sold it before I could diagnose...It was so bad, I couldn't have a convo with someone in the back seat unless they sat in the middle and moved their head close to the front.

Often door alignment being off, usually do to body work and or hinge wear can be a problem. New door seals might be needed as well. I had to fix my drain tubes a few days ago and was almost going to cut the ribbed portion off so that the tubes could be loose and not creep but then I wondered if that might not cause wind noise ?? Would sure drive a person nuts trying to pin that down!
