There are at least two procedures to engage related to TC oil change.

2-1 slam should be a transmission not TC issue but let me know if that's not the case.

My torque converter doesn't grab below 1200 rpm so I need to pre spool before launch other than than it's great but i think I'll be finally doing an oil change soon.

The 2-1 slam is certainly the transmission but last time I had this I coincidentally was changing the transfer case fluid and performed the oil wear adaptation reset, it cured the 2-1slam! For a long while anyway - it has come back.

Will be interesting to see if this "coincidence" happens again.

I know off topic, but I was getting a bit of 2-1 slam on my E70 N52 with the ZF trans and cleaning the vanos screens cured it, so maybe sometimes the engine not running properly could have something to do with it.
