Honest opinion?

Would you or wouldn't you lower the X5? Pros and Cons? I'm just stuck right now and don't know what to do? Does the H&R's come with springs and shocks? I asked the high end shop how much it would cost and they told me $650.00 for the Springs and install. Is that a lot or not really?

it really depends on what type of springs you get but the price they quoted you does seem inflated if it's just for springs and install....i bought eibach springs w. installation was $500

I thought the price was a little high also. Does BMW install them at the dealership?

Honestly? I don't think an X5 should be "slammed", and I wouldn't want to do anything to compromize the ride quality, but I do think that decreasing the gap between the tire and the wheel well a bit would look better, especially with the 19's & 20's. I dunno, perhaps about 1.5 to 2" would look great, but I don't like it when people lower their vehicles so much that the top of the tire is hidden by the wheel well...

I only want a 1.5 drop. Nothing more. I just want that more aggresive look. So is everyone saying YES!

i agree...i don't like it when X5's are slammed to ground level but the Eibachs are perfect, i think it's only 1.5" drop, it looks a lot cleaner

Yes, your 2001 X5 4.4i has a rear air suspension. If you get Eibach front springs, you will lower the front about 1.2" and you can get the BMW dealer to use the DIS computer to lower the rear air springs by about 1" or 20-30 mm.
