Light behind door handles

Do you guys have those orange lights behind all door handles (front and back)? My delaer replaced my rear door panel after cracking it while trying to open it to replace lock acuators however, the replacement doesn't have the orange light behind the handle?? the other side does? I'm wondering if he ordered the wrong panel or WTF?? I'm sick of going back several times because they create more problems than they fix? Could you guys check on your rear doors and let me know that I'm not imagining things!? there should be lights behind all handles. Thx

Angry

Yep, my Nov 2005 X5 has them on all four doors - nearly crashed while looking at the ones in the back last night!!!!

Don't think that they have been stopped. Your dealer should replace like for like - go challenge them - get them to take a panel from a used car if necessary.

Regards, Dave

No handle light on my Sept.2003 X5 3.0{not that I have noticed anyway}
Is this a standard or an option?
I assume we are talking about the exterior door handles and the light is illuminated from where exactly?Must check this out in the manual

Quote from the BMW X5 brochure (printed June 2005) -

Standard on all models of X5 -

Interior lights package: with courtesy lights at the front and rear, exit lights on all four doors, switchable reading lights at the front and rear, illuminated vanity mirrors, footwell illumination at the front, illumination of entry area

It's the "exit lights on all four doors" that we are talking about. All 2005 models of X5 should have a kind of orangey/red LED illuminating the door handles.

Regards,

Dave
